Version Publication Notifications

What this screen is for

What the team is told when a version is published, and who is told. Publishing is the moment an application stops being yours and becomes the team’s, and this is how they find out.

Before you start

To do this You need

Opening it

The notifications bell in the sidebar, or /notifications.

When a new version is published, the platform automatically notifies relevant team members.

Notification Channels

  • Sidebar indicator: A red badge with unread count appears on the “Notifications” bell icon in the left sidebar
  • Notification center: Accessible via the sidebar or at /notifications — shows all notifications (newest first) with mark-as-read and direct links to App Builder

Who Receives Notifications

Publisher

Receives a confirmation: “Version Published Successfully: {App Name} {Version}”.

Group Members

All members of the application’s owner group (except the publisher) receive: “New Version Published: {App Name} {Version}” with the publisher’s name.

Scenario

A team member is working from a stale version.

  1. Ask them to open /notifications and look for the publication notice. If it is there and unread, the mechanism worked and the message was missed.
  2. If there is no notice, check whether the change was published or only saved as draft — see Application Management. A draft notifies nobody, which is exactly what makes it safe to keep.
  3. If it was published and they still received nothing, check their group membership in My Groups. Notifications follow group membership, so someone outside the group is invisible to it.
  4. Have them mark it read once actioned. An unread count nobody clears stops being a signal.
